Pop Tarts – (T)Art Gallery

A pop-up art gallery celebrating the 60th anniversary of Pop-Tarts features art created from the breakfast pastries – including an homage to one of the most iconic pop-art pieces of all-time.

Nathan Wyburn, a food artist from Cardiff, Wales, was commissioned by Kellogg’s – to create three works of art for the Pop (T)Art Gallery Experience.

The gallery opened for two days in East London, in October 2024 and featured various Pop-Tarts-inspired works of art.

Wyburn spent over 10 hours constructing the Marilyn Monroe and Mona Lisa pictures and used more than 120 Pop-Tarts in his creations.

Shauna Lenagh, senior director at Kellogg’s, which is offering visitors the chance to create their own edible masterpieces at a pop-up art gallery, commented:

“To highlight the little-known fact that Pop Tarts were named after the pop art movement, and celebrate our 60th anniversary, we have worked with Nathan Wyburn to bring the Pop (T)Art Gallery Experience to life.”

“We look forward to seeing our visitors’ reactions to the artwork, and the creative expressions they come up with themselves.”

I was asked to create the artwork for the front facade of the building as well as supply decorative items for the inside of the gallery.
