NatWest – Piggy Banks 2.0

This project involved developing a series of concept designs for NatWest, reimagining their classic 1980s piggy banks for a contemporary audience. The goal was to take a nostalgic piece of the bank’s heritage and update it to reflect the diverse financial milestones and life goals of customers today.

Rather than just focusing on general saving, these redesigned models were tailored to specific modern “life landmarks.” The concepts moved beyond the traditional family structure of the original 1980s set to include a broader range of aspirations, creating a more inclusive and relevant collection.

The series of proof-of-concept models featured designs centered around:

  • Starting a Business: Capturing the spirit of entrepreneurship.

  • Going Travelling: Focused on global exploration and gap years.

  • Graduation: Marking the transition from education to the professional world.

  • Having a Child and Getting Married: Modern takes on traditional family milestones.

I was responsible for the initial artwork and 3D conceptualization of these characters, ensuring they maintained a hint of the original charm while feeling fresh, sleek, and aligned with NatWest’s modern brand identity.
