Aldi – Santa’s Parking Space

Christmas shoppers in Manchester were treated to a festive surprise when a giant sleigh parking space appeared on the roof of a local Aldi store. The installation was designed as a playful tribute to the holiday season, complete with a sleigh-shaped print and dedicated spots reserved for Santa’s nine trusty reindeer.

The eye-catching artwork, painted in high-visibility yellow to guide the sleigh in from the sky, measured 11 metres in length and six metres in width. Each individual reindeer—from Dasher and Dancer down to Rudolph—had their own marked space within the 66-square-metre bay. The goal was to create a bit of local wonder and a fun photo opportunity for the community during the busy December period.

I was asked to create the initial artwork for the project, providing the proof of concept that helped the client visualize how the parking bay would look when scaled up for the store’s rooftop.
