Aldi – Aldeh

Aldi has embraced Manchester’s musical heritage by temporarily rebranding its Prestwich store as ‘Aldeh’, a nod to the city’s instantly-recognisable accent and the legendary band Oasis.

This change coincides with Oasis’s highly anticipated homecoming concerts at Heaton Park, located near the store. The rebranding has attracted fans, many rocking bucket hats and tracksuits, who have been snapping photos under the new ‘Aldeh’ signage.

The initiative was executed by creative agency Taylor Herring, aiming to celebrate Manchester’s vibrant culture and the band’s reunion. Julie Ashfield, Aldi UK’s Chief Commercial Officer, stated that the temporary name change is a tribute to both the local dialect and the band’s global impact.

Having worked previously on campaigns for the Aldi brand, I was asked to supply the artwork for the store signs and incorporate the change of name into their brand mark.
